San Stae was established by Curator and Designer, Aly Grimes. Bringing together her two great passions - art and interiors, Aly named the studio after the Italian neighbourhood she lived in during her creative training in Venice.

Since its inception, the studio has collaborated with private clients, architects and developers on a variety of heritage and new build projects across the residential, hospitality and commercial sectors.

We have attracted industry recognition by producing the first ‘Airbnb Plus’ property in the West Midlands for Blast House I, and the ‘Best Boutique Stay in Warks & West Mids’ for Beverley Thrills.

Our convenient Midlands location allows us to realise projects across the UK with much of our work spanning Central England and the South West.

It’s our strongest belief that your interior design experience should be hugely enjoyable, fun and stress-free. With this in mind, we provide a very personal level of service and only take on a handful of projects at a time to ensure that all clients can work directly with Aly as the Principal Designer.

At the heart of San Stae lies a passion for connecting clients to contemporary craftsmanship. The breadth of our artistic and professional training and knowledge provides us with a creative edge, extensive international and local networks and a more innovative approach than many of our contemporaries.
